  1. Read all instructions.

Detachable Inner Lid

How to Disassemble

  • โ€“ Press the levers found on the upper right and left side of the inner lid.

How to Assemble

  • โ€“ Align the bottom of the detachable inner lid with the grooves found on the inner lid.
  • โ€“ Press lightly on the upper part of the detachable inner lid to secure into place.

CONTROL PANEL

    DISPLAY

    • Shows the current mode, selected menu and remaining cooking/preset time.

    WARM/REHEAT

    • Warms or reheats cooked food.

    TIMER

    • Select the desired time that a cooking cycle will complete up to 24 hours in advance.
  4. 4

    START/CANCEL

    • One press will begin the selected cooking mode and two presses will cancel.

    MENU

    • Each press will cycle through the menu options found on the control panel: STEAM, STORED RICE, PORRIDGE, STEEL CUT OATS, QUINOA, or AUTO CLEAN.

    DIRECT MENU

    • Press the desired menu: WHITE, BROWN/MIXED, JASMINE/LONG GRAIN, or QUICK.
โ€ป If the CANCEL button is pressed while selecting a setting, the unit will go into standby mode.

Menu Options

COOKING PREPARATION

  1. Clean the inner pot with a soft sponge and warm, soapy water then dry thoroughly.

  2. Using the provided rice measuring cup, add rice to a large bowl.

  3. Rinse the rice under cool water until the water is no longer murky.

  4. Transfer the rinsed rice to the inner pot.

  5. Fill the inner pot with water to the respective water line depending on the type of grain being cooked.

HOW TO COOK

  1. To select one of the menu options found on the control panel, press the MENU button until the desired option is selected. To select WHITE, BROWN/MIXED, JASMINE/LONG GRAIN, or QUICK, simply press the respective button.

  2. Press the START/CANCEL button to initiate the selected menu option.

    • The remaining cooking time will count down on the digital display.
  3. When the cooking has completed, the cooker will beep and automatically switch to WARM mode.

    • For best results, stir the rice with the rice spatula after cooking.

Cooking times may vary based on external temperatures and the amount of food being prepared.

HOW TO STEAM

  1. Press the MENU button until the STEAM menu option is selected.

    • The display will show 0:30, signifying the default 30 minutes of steam time.
  2. Press the START/CANCEL button.

    • The time on the display will begin counting down once the water has been preheated.

STORED RICE MODE

What is STORED RICE?

The STORED RICE menu option will optimally prepare rice that can be stored in the freezer then reheated in the microwave.

How to Use STORED RICE

  1. Press the MENU button until STORED RICE is selected.

  2. Press the START/CANCEL button to begin the cooking cycle.

  3. When cooking is complete, open the lid and stir the cooked rice thoroughly.

  4. Transfer the cooked rice into a microwave-safe container then store in the refrigerator or freezer.

  • โ€“ When using the STORED RICE function, refer to the White Rice water lines. The maximum cooking capacity for STORED RICE is 4 cups.
  • โ€“ Note that the quality of the rice may be negatively affected the longer it is stored.
  • โ€“ Do not attempt to cook more than this cooker's maximum capacity.
  • โ€“ Always allow the cooker to cool completely before removing the detachable inner lid.

PRESET TIMER

  1. Select the desired menu option.

    • Preset Timer Compatible Options: WHITE, BROWN/MIXED, JASMINE/LONG GRAIN, QUICK, STEAM, PORRIDGE.
  2. Press the TIMER button.

    • The TIMER indicator light will begin flashing.
    • The preset timer can be set up to 24 hours in advance.
    • Each press of the TIMER button will increase the time by 10 minute increments. (1:00 โ†’ 1:10 โ†’ 1:20 โ€ฆ 23:50 โ†’ 24:00 โ†’ 1:00 โ€ฆ)
    • Holding down the TIMER button will allow you to change the time faster.
  3. Press the TIMER button once more to begin setting the preset time.

  4. Press the START/CANCEL button to begin the preset timer.

    • Cooking will be completed at the set time.
You may notice that the Maillard reaction is more pronounced while cooking rice using the preset timer. The Maillard reaction is a form of non-enzymatic browning that occurs in foods when proteins and/or amino acids chemically react with reduced sugars. Applying continuous heat while cooking accelerates and continues this intricate process, which elevates the taste, aromas, and appearance of your rice.

HOW TO USE KEEP WARM/REHEAT

  • โ€“ To reheat cooked rice, press the WARM/REHEAT button twice while the cooker is on Standby mode. The standard reheat cycle lasts 25 minutes.
  • โ€“ After reheating is completed, the rice cooker will automatically enter WARM mode. The elapsed warming time is displayed on the panel.
  • โ€“ Frequently using the REHEAT function may cause cooked rice to become discolored or dried out. We recommend only using it once or twice per batch of rice.
Keeping rice in the cooker on WARM mode for extended periods of time may cause the cooked rice to become discolored. We recommend keeping rice on WARM mode for no more than 12 hours. After 12 hours of WARM mode have elapsed, the cooker will automatically switch to Standby mode.

  1. Fill the inner pot with water to water level line 2.

  2. Place the inner pot into the cooker then close the lid securely.

  3. Press the AUTO CLEAN button.

  4. To begin the steam cleaning cycle, press the START/CANCEL button.

  • โ€“ Remove and clean the detachable inner lid and the steam vent after every use.
  • โ€“ Always ensure the inner pot's exterior is completely dry before placing it inside the rice cooker.
  • โ€“ If any food or debris falls into the rice cooker, ensure to remove it before beginning the cooking cycle. Failure to do so may result in damage to the temperature sensor or heating element.

Cleaning the Steam Vent

  • โ€“ Locate the steam vent on the inner lid then turn the steam vent counterclockwise to unlock.
  • โ€“ Soak the inner lid and the detached steam vent in warm, soapy water then rinse.
  • โ€“ Thoroughly dry the parts then reassemble the steam vent and the inner lid by following the steps in the opposite order.
